Italian Chestnuts

Chestnuts have been grown for generations in the beautiful mountains of Campania, Italy, where in early Autumn, and only when nature decides they’re ready, the chestnuts naturally drop from the trees and are collected by the Contadini, the local farmers who use centuries-old methods.

The Fresh Italian chestnut season typically begins in October and reaches its peak in mid-December. The roasting of these flavorful nuts fills the air with the sweet aroma of the holidays, making Christmas truly special.

Please note: Although we strive to provide high-quality chestnuts, we cannot be held responsible for any that may have rotted upon opening after cooking. No refunds all sales are final. When cut open, rotten chestnuts usually show a tan-brown discoloration of part or the entire nut kernel.

They are great. Mine and my wife’s first time roasting and eating chestnuts. We will be doing more of them tonight with our granddaughter and some friends. An Old tradition, but new to us. We would highly recommend Piccolo’s Gastronomia Italiana!

I would give it a zero if I could. These chestnuts were 90 percent rotten. The store owner is not interested in customer satisfaction and refused to look at the 18 photos that I sent him showing the moldy nuts. He blamed the weather, the post office and everything else he could think of. I spent $50 for 3 pounds. After arguing with him for 2 weeks, he sent me a new order of 2 1/2 pounds, yes, a half pound less, all just as rotten as the first order. This man will get rich, but, he will never get another penny of my money.

Fantastic!

I bought these as a holiday gift for my wife, who is from Japan and she is very particular about her chestnuts. Her exact words: "Awesome! I loved them!". For me, it just doesn't get better than that.
