Piccolo's Homemade Pizzagaina, Pizza Rustica, Half Tray

Remember being a kid and going one of the many amazing Italian specialty stores in North Jersey? Most of them are gone and some of the remaining ones aren't what they used to be. I found Piccolo's online and took a chance and ordered the pizza-gaina.
When I walked in the door, I felt like a little kid again! The smells and sights were on point. There were at least 3 generations of family working behind the counter & everybody was pleasant. The man behind the counter showed me the pie before he packaged it up. It was beautiful, just like I remember my grandmother putting on the table.
When I got home, we couldn't wait for Easter and everyone had a slice. It was the best I've had aside of making it myself. My family loved it This place is for real and I'm so thrilled to find a REAL Italian specialty store again.
